Get your flu jab now!

Post by fabindia »

It's going to be a tough winter with this Corona virus still dominating our lives and the last thing you want is Covid and the flu at the same time.

I'm avoiding situations where I might catch anything so I think I'll leave the vaccine for those who need it.

Just looked at that word as I tried to spell it. Do you think it comes from the Latin for 'cow' - vacca. The first vaccine was made by jenner injecting cowpox germs to protect against smallpox.

Same here, Mo. I've had two text notifications which I have ignored. I am happy to lead a semi reclusive life, and will not be mixing with people.

I had my flu jab over a week ago so at least I should be OK there. Did have a very sore arm after but my sister didn't so not the vaccine .
I am now a widow and live with my memories.

I usually go to the Doctor's fro mine, but when the Boots salesperson offered me a slot back in early September and thinking Doctor's would be hard pushed, I took the opportunity - so had mine on the 21st.
Apparently it only covers 4 strains, but 4 is better than none !

I had mine two weeks ago when I went to doctors for blood test, but must admit I am not an avid fan of vaccines of any sort, especially the live ones. As the flu jab is a dead vaccine I said yes, but still very much on the fence.

I've always said I'd never have the flu jab, so has my OH. He has been eligible for the last few years as he is now 68 but this was the first year I got a text message to have one. If it hadn't been for Covid I don't think I would have bothered but we both decided we would. When we got to the GP surgery they asked us out of the blue if we would both like a pneumonia jab too, had no idea they did that at our age. So we both said yes. We both had a painful arm for a few days but that's about it so glad we had it done :-D

I've not had it before, and I was hanging back but when they stopped sending emails and actually phoned I went. Wasn't offered pneumonia jab.
Nice to see you again, it's been a while
