Thanks for the link Julie. We saw a micro caravan at a rally a couple of years since. Just the thought of cooking and preparing food under the cover in the rain is a bit off-putting, but they are very popular.

I've just had time for a good look at Mr Spreckly's wagonette restoration and
I think it really is an outstanding job. The skilled woodwork and recycled items of the fit out have nicely preserved the warmth and character missing from modern caravans.
The colour scheme is spot on.

Your response to people who call it an ice cream van etc is probably more polite than they'd get from me.
Critisism comes easier than craftsmanship.

Possibly of interest as the artwork on some canal boats is similar to vintage caravans.
This is the decoration in the back cabin of the replica vintage boat I am building.
(which is why I've not been active on here recently)

In the small cabin space is at a premium so the bow topped cupboard front drops down to become a dining table:

BTW - hinges and beading still to be painted.

Idont know how iv missed this thread Mr and Mrs Spreckly and Andy the skill and craftmanship is outstanding and very beautiful. Spreckly your lovely wagonette reminds me of our first static caravan small but perfectly formed and what lovely hollibobs we had in her Lindaxx
