Trees and new Homes

Post by Richard »

I'm sure you know it is illegal to cut down trees in bird breeding season, I believe this is between April and end of August.

I heard from my daughter that in Southampton they are building a new Housing Estate next Summer.
To get around this they have covered trees which are destined for distruction with netting so the birds won't nest in them and they can legally go ahead.

Personally, I think this is a sin !

Worst still is the fact they'll be naming the roads after birds !

There's this misguided and foolish attitude of 'they'll find somewhere else to live. Not all do.

I often see hedges covered, where work is planned. That makes sense I suppose.
