Ex-Battery Rescue Info, Other hens needing homes & Hens wanted
13 posts • Page 1 of 1
One year ago we re-homed five ex-battery hens. They arrived not looking very well, but in a few weeks they had a lot more feathers. Their behaviour has also changed and are very friendly now. We now have three of them and we need a kind nice home for them as we are moving abroad shortly. They are very social and good fun to watch them. They enjoy free range.
Please let me know if you can help. I have a drinker and a feeder. Also a nice coop, ideally for a small donation but we can talk about it.

Hi , Actually , I may have found a brilliant home for them ,have a chat with the work colleague .Has got 5 hens and wanted some hybrids for the colour . Had the chicks from me and lost some .
What ever happens though , I will help . If somebody else is in the offering let them have them , save space for others at mine .
Bottom line is PM me when you need the girls to go with a few days notice.
Good morning Bob,
What a kind answer, thank you for your help. It is a bit far for us to drive there and back. If ok with you I am going to try a more local person that I know she has hens already. If she can not take them, please can I contact you again and we will drive.
Thank you for your kindness, it is really appreciated
Hi , I was going to collect them ...
But please find a good home near to you if you can .
But if all else fails let me know and I will step up to the mark.
Thank you .
Good morning Bob,
Thank you for answer. If ok with you I will take up your offer. We are moving on the 23rd Aug but it will help to have a bit more time with the move.....If you want to think again, please feel free....Not sure how long these chickens will live. I re-homed them I think in August last year and I think bhwt re-homes them when they are 78 weeks. We re-homed 5 and have 3. They look well. One of them has a bit of feathers missing in the back side. They lay or one or two eggs a day between them.
All the best
Sorry Bob, I think I did my maths wrong, these hens should be a bit older than two and a half years
Hi .PM me and will make arrangements.
Age is not a problem .Sure they will be happy .
Give you me phone nr.
Good evening Bob,
