Sherlock Holmes

Post by ma larkin »

I watched on DVD last nigh 'Sherlock Holmes' starring Jude Law and Robert Downing Jr. (I was in HEAVEN!!! :-D ) The scenery and graphics were amazing and some of it was filmed in Brompton Cemetery in London. I lived near Bromptom Cemetery and my Dad and I used to take long walks there with the dog and it is a fasinating place but very very spooky.
I did not really get the plot of the film and although Robert Downing Jr did a fantastic english accent it was a little difficult to understand what he was actually saying! He is so handsome to me I did not care what he was talking about anyway :-D

Has anyone else seen it? I would highly recommend the film.

Must admit I've not not seen it but for me, Jeremy Brett is, was and always will be, Sherlock Holmes. He is truly fantastic.

I enjoyed the film and have been reliably informed that the film is a more acurate adaptation of the books than previous depictions; although having never read the books i wouldn't know.

Its definitely good, and entertaining, but not a keeper IMHO.
Better still, download it from the internets and save your pennies +pirate+

I'm another Jeremy Brett fan and have read all the books.
I had avoided this film as it seemed (from the trailers) to run with the usual hollywood action and romance theme which definately was not in the novels.
Still based on your good reviews I could be proved wrong. May give it a watch after all.
