The repair shop

Post by albertajune »

I have started watching The Repair Shop, channel 1 at 4.30. I8 know too early for people who have to go to work but if home, so worth watching. Basically people bring to the barn treasured objects that are in a dreadful state and they are repaired by the most skilled people. As someone who loves crafts I find it amazing at how talented the professionals are. I don't know how many more programs there are to go but do watch if interested in this sort of thing. )t'

My daughter lives near New Mills and they have a Transition group that runs a Repair Café once a month.
People sat round with sewing machines & soldering irons poised to repair what they can. I went to one, there was a musical instrument maker there, but they didn't know he was coming so hadn't advertised that. All free (donations encouraged).

Same here. What a wonderful talent those craftspeople have to bring back such old broken items back to life.
