Washing powder - A.di?

Post by Spreckly »

I bought some Al..t some time ago, and used it in my Ho.p...t machine on a cold wash, the results did not impress me, so I went back to my normal brand. With a different machine, doing a thirty degrees wash, I thought I would try A.di's brand.

Anyone else use it with success?

I used to buy Formil, which is Lidl's own brand. That used to be fine. Haven't bought powder for years now though. I did read somewhere that powder is actually better for washing, but I still buy liquids.

All powder's will be pretty much the same.

I also use Formil liquid.and think it is wonderful value. Very inexpensive and does a good clean, bright wash.

I use tescos own liquid & it seems as good as any others - but cheaper....(and its not tested on animals, I believe aldis own brands also arent but Lidls are).

I use Aldi's Almat non bio and find them very good. They have had up to recently about 20p off their normal price so I have been stocking up.

I had no idea that animals were tested on the Lydl product. Definately won't buy if that is the case.

Using the Al..i powder. Don't know if I will buy any more after the packet is used up. It tends to still go partially solid in my dispenser drawer, even on a thirty degree wash. I now measure out the amount, and add hot water so that it dissolves. This is working, and none left in the drawer.

Been watching a minimalist couple on you tube, who travel around in their home adaptation camper van. Most impressed with them. They use washing nuts for their washing. Anyone used these?

I have used the wash balls and tbh found them utter rubbish. They are now languishing in my peg bag.

Gwen, are the wash balls the same as the nuts?

Not sure, Spreckly. I got mine from the Ideal Home Exhibition in Birmingham some years ago.

Ever thought of making your own?

Since this thread

I'm still making my own.

I buy an 'emergency' bottle of liquid every couple of years, I still use fabric conditioner in most washes too.

Never made my own wash powder, Hedgehugger. Seen in the past that other Laners have. Thanks for the link.
