GERANIUMS AND HANGING BASKETS/TROUGHS ETC

Post by barboo »

September's here and from now on the weather changes and for me it's the time of year i start to bring down the hanging baskets and save the geraniums,
Ive a large workshop that never falls below 55 deg in the winter and so i tend to re-pot the geraniums and these are stored all around the workshop until spring,
You can dry store geraniums by removing all the soil/compost and hanging them unside down in a frost free storage area.
As september gets longer the nights get shorter and the leaves start to fall along with the fruits,
I tend to rake up leaves every morning and these go on one of my compost heaps along with verious finshed plants,
It all makes good future compost and all ends up in the soil again.

But for me september is the start of the work for getting ready for next spring, lot's to do and everyday the light gets shorter. >mmm<
