As you know Faith has been very ill but with abs she seemed to get over it and although never back to her energatic best, she has been tootling along happily
This morning she was very slow again and rested alot, and about 1pm we noticed that the pointy ends of her comb had a purply/blue tinge. We have spent all afternoon with the girls and we have seen her comb discolouring as the day has gone on, she took herself off to bet at 5.15 the others are still out.
We have had some lovely cuddles with her which she only allows when shes ill, and she slept and gently bop-bopped as we got more and more choked up
Her breathing is normal and she isn't in any distress she just seems to be fading away. hubby gave her some worms and she ambled over to look for some when he dug but stayed clear of her sisters
Faith has always been a tiny dynamo with lightening speed hence the nickname roadrunner its awful to see her with no energy Always vocal and with a very deep and ditinctive voice she certainly let us know what she thought of everything, we said she sounds like a cross between Pat Butcher and Foghorn Leghorn what a combination
To be honest we will be suprised if she is here in the morning, but she is where she wants to be with her sisters in a lovely deep staw bed and if we brought her inside it would only be for our sake. Our hope is that she goes to sleep all snuggled up and drifts away like our April did, her symptoms are exactly the same
Faith had her 1yr Hennaversary last sunday and she has enjoyed her life and although we would love her to have alot longer we are being realistic and very thankful for the time she has had with us Lindaxx

I did hope the little lady would pull through, but sometimes they just decide it's their time and off they go. At least you can remember all the lovely times you had together and all the lovely chickeny things she had a chance to do, thanks to you and your husband.

This morning we were very happy when our gutsy girl tootled out into the garden, yes she is still slow but did seem a bit livlier and brighter today Her comb has gone really discoloured though now and only a small part of it is normal pink, but she has eaten and drunk well which is good, she scoffed boiled egg and tomatoes as well as mash. We can only see what each day brings, one thing for certain is that she is making the most of every minute. As long as she is in no pain or distress we are happy with that and so is our vet like he said hes only a phonecall away if we need him
CD yes Faith is ex-batt and was such a tatty little bundle of quills, she only started to look halfway decent about 3mths or so ago when her egg producing pipes were packing up. That little lady laid an egg everyday up until then and it was as if all the goodness was going into her eggs instead of her body theres no wonder she worn out bless her heart Lindaxx

Oh that's great news. I hope she carries on pootling happily along for much longer, even if it's a bit more slowly than before, as she must be having a wonderful post-egg retirement with you
So glad to hear that she has perked up a bit. Hopefully she will get a bit better each day. It is sad to have to watch them deteriorate but there is no doubt that Faith has had the best of care from you Linda. You are always so supportive of everyone else, so I hope you know how much we are supporting you.
