Tuesday 11th March 2014

What a cracking day not over warm but ideal for on the garden, got the last of the parsnips out ,some were beauty's Wendy has had her work cut out blanching and freezing {hug&kiss}
Image
Needed to get that bed cleared ready for me late spuds in a few more weeks.Parsnips can get woody if you leave them to long .
Parsnips out ,Parsnips in 7 rows in one of the smaller beds and 4 short rows of sweed .
Image
Managed to get me onion sets in as well today 7 rows and the rest for leeks in a few weeks.

Think most of my crops will end up under net this year ,seems the best way to go . )t'

Looking good Bill. Have you used the frames supporting your net, with polythene as a makeshift poly tunnel/cold frame type of thing? That's what I'm planning on doing with one of my raised beds, I can't see why it wouldn't work?!

They are polly tunnel frames cut down a couple i picked up cheep ,yes they will work for you with plastic sheet just make sure you anchor them down well ,the netting has a simulare affect breaks the cold wind so keeping the ground warmer and encourages growth. )t'
