Baked Camembert - in the microwave :-)

Post by Benny&Co »

I made a discovery last night.

Absolutely love my baked camembert, with garlic and fresh rosemary or thyme.

As I'd 'oven-prided' my oven I thought I'd try it out in the micro - and voila, it worked just fine - only around 4 minutes to yummyness )eat(

I cooked it on medium and medium low a minute at a time )t'

)eat( yum!
No microwave here, but you've got me wanting baked Camembert, so that's my dinner plan sorted (it is ok to have just cheese for dinner, isn't it?)

Do baked Brie/Camember all the time - will def try it in the microwave.

But you cheese lovers, have you tried Baked Brie/Camember baked inside a loaf of bread!!!!
This is seriously good!
Take a round good quality unsliced loaf (cob style I think its called) - round like half a sphere IYKWIM?

cut the top off half way down - horizontally
put your brie/camember on top of the bottom half and 'measure' what size hole you need to cut, to make the brie/camember fit. Cut out that shape. Nestle the cheese into the hold. Take a knife and cut slits from the cheese to the outside of the loaf - like wedges - stud the cheese with little bits of garlic, or some herbs, or slits filled with pesto (yum) and put the lid back on. Wrap in a bit of tinfoil an pop into the oven to melt the cheese (or Microwave now we know that works!) Use the wedges of bread that you cut pulling them off to dunk in the melted cheese. (Does this make sense???!)

ooh - Mrs Boodles - you should definitely try it. Camembert is lovely, smooth, creamy, tasty cheese, and when it's baked, it's kind of fondue-like :-D
