GARDEN HOSE PIPE

Using products you have around the home for other jobs

Fair enough, garden hose pipe may not be a household product as such, but most of us have a few bits laying around or for uses below would be able to cut a bit off if need be.

1. Chain Protection

For things such as kiddies Garden Swings or chain where it is relatively straight and would be best covered, slit along a length of hose and wrap round. If it needs to be secured tightly, hold together with Gaffer Tape

2. Drain Clearance

Having good 'bendability', hose pipe is great for feeding down a drain and having a twirl around to release any blockage. You can even try blowing hard down it, but make sure you move it away from your mouth before breathing in or you could get a mouthful or smell of something you don't need!

3.Saw Blade Protector.

Slit along a length of hose and cover your Saw Blades. Not only will this protect the saw from the weathers but ensure your own safety when fumbling around in the dark trying to find it.

4. Sandpaper 'extra'

If you have to sand inside a curved piece of wood, wrap the sandpaper around some hosepipe and do it that way, it'll last longer and save the sandpaper splitting.

5. Siphon Petrol from a Car

I'm talking legally here of course! Maybe the Petrol Mower has just run out of petrol and you don't want to journey down to the Fuel Station but you've ample in the Car. Take a length of hose about 3 feet long and insert into the petrol tank. From the petrol nozzle take the pipe down and back up (like a sink 'u' bend, suck hard and you'll smell the petrol has made the dip, keeping the pipe downward from the nozzle, raise the pipe and hold over the petrol can or mower nozzle.

6. Wrap round Handle

Slitting and wrapping a hose pipe around metal handles will stop that irritating cutting feeling in your hands. Should you break your Petrol Lawn Mower starting handle, make a hole in a piece of pipe, tie a knot on the inside and you have a good and free replacement.
