My dad does this regularly in a BBQ - the kind that has a lid. It's always delicious!

Safe garlic oil?

Hello all )wav(

I really want to make some garlic flavoured olive oil, but I know I shouldn't leave cloves of garlic int he oil bottle because of something nasty (bottulism maybe??) developing.

But I've been thinking, what if I used wild garlic leaves in a bottle of oil? Are there the same risks?

Re: coal v wood

We burn a mixture of coal and wood, it costs us £20 a week. Our local shop does a deal - 2 bags of coal, 2 bags of wood and a very big bag of kindling for £20 so we susally make do with that

Re: DIY facial scrub

It made lovely presents. I had saved up nicely-shaped jars, I printed out some labels I found for free online and mod podged them ontot he jars and lids, then tied a pretty ribbon around the neck of the jar.

Beware though the oil will leak out a tiny bit once they've been stored for a while!

Homemade Saugages?

I have decided I'm going to start processing my own meat so I know what's actually in it - not because of the horse meat thing (wouldnt mind eating horse) I'm more concerned about all the additives, preservatives, colourings, enhancers etc. Now, the other half is a butcher by trade, so he's going to...

Re: Holly's Kitchen.

Great project, I'm very glad you put up how you made the sink as I've been searching the charity shops for a wee unit to build one of these for my daughters play house but had no idea how to make a tiny sink!!!

I think we need pics of it in use though )t'

Re: DIY facial scrub

I dont really have a recipe as such. I made in bulk, so I bought a kilo bag of sugar (around 90p) and a litre of ordinary veg oil (about £1.20 I think) Put the sugar in a large bowl. Add a good glug of oil, stir and stir and stir until mixed evenly. Have a feel, if it seems a bit dry add more oil, i...

Re: DIY facial scrub

I made lots of jars of sugar scrub for christmas presents. They are scented with essential oils (peppermint or lemon) and they have so far kept well in their washed out and sterilised jam jars. Also did brown sugar and vanilla, and experimented with honey and oatmeal sugar scrub. Great for the bath ...

I've had a fabby rugby weekend.

I went to Ravehill to see Ulster play Ospreys on Friday night, and then watched the Ireland match on sunday.

Great fun even if we did lose both matches.....

Re: STRICTLY DANCING 2012

The best thing about Strictly is watching my wee Alexis shake her booty as she tried to copy the dancers on TV - PRICELES!!!!! But do you now what I dont like about Darcey? Its the way she puts an upward inflection at the end of every sentence? Makes everything sound like a question? It's irritating...

Re: Getting ready for Winter

We have the sweep coming next week to do the flue for the multi-fuel burner, and the coal man is delivering 2 bags a week from next tues. My dad has built us a little log store from pallets, we'll be starting to fill that up over the weekend - need to get over to my parents and liberate some logs wh...
