Re: My SAD Lamp is really working

But seriously, as we say: did you feel any benefits from it during the long, dark winter days?

Or, like with the flu jab, is it impossible to know how you would have been if you hadn't used it (I think that makes some sort of sense). >coc<

Re: Countdown to first showing!

The original post does say it was to be shown at 9am. Surely it's not possible you have missed the programme by tuning in 11 hours too late :-D

What "macho image" is that, Richard?

I think you are being a bit optimistic, particularly since last week when you posted a picture of yourself wearing a pink cowboy hat.... )cowboy(

Re: House and Contents Insurance

I had a similar experience this week. Saga, a company I rate for customer service etc, quoted me £620 (up from £253 six years ago). Fair enough, everything's going up at the moment...except that I called in at a local brokers and they came up up with £300 for the same cover with Royal and Sun Allian...

Re: Is it just me, or it TV getting worse and worse?

Do you ever worry you are beginning to sound just like your parents?

Do you tut and say modern music is rubbish, you can't tell what they're singing about...and it's much too loud?

And why is the weather so much worse than it was when we were young? And why is everything so expensive? +confused+

Re: Electric Bicycles - worth it? Are they frugal?

Surely not...but I did just wonder if Richard's sudden interest in electric bikes has anything at all to do with his epic Lands End to John O'Groats pedal later this year. Second thoughts, perhaps?

Re: Free hot water

Right Al, I switched off the central heating and wheeled a load of fresh manure into the living room. How long do you reckon it will be before I'm warm and cosy? I'm also expecting that this innovation will be extra useful in summer for enticing flies to vacate my kitchen. Keep us posted if you have...

Slightly off-topic Richard, but what happened to the Chinese scooters you were keen on a couple of years ago?

Do you still have one, do you recommend them - or did you abandon them for not being up to scratch?

"Why has dad gone back to watching tv?"

At last...I've found some telly I really enjoy. Vintage TV (Sky channel 369, Freesat 515) offers 24/7 music for people of a certain age. It's on here throughout the day as a pleasant background and has taken the place of music radio for me. The great advantage is that there are no inane disc jockeys...

Re: Making a spectacle of frugality

Richard said: It's not too bad in so far as they're Wilko ones and I paid about £3.99 each for them You could do better, frugality-wise, by buying them from a £ shop - and very nearly get four times as many for the same price. I have about half a dozen pairs around the house, all with neck cords att...
