P.D had her stitches out today, :-) so she could rejoin the other girls. I'm concerned she will have lost her place in the pecking order, and allought she's better she's not back to normal yet. Should we wait untill she's fully back on form and perphaps able to hold her own, or put her back now and ...

Thank you all for your kind wishes and advice, it's much appreciated. We took P.D to the vets again today, who if not as knowledgeable as we might hope, are being really helpful about appointments. The vet thinks nerve damage too. That may or may not improve. This would account for the reduction in ...

You poor thing. What a terrible thing to have happen. I hope that the re-homing goes well, and that you are able to be proud of the care you've given all your birds.

Mo, I leave three sacrificial cabbages where they are easily accessable, and any others are more closely guarded.

I quite enjoy seeing them about, there seem to be so few of any butterflies at the moment. :cry:

small (3mm) white creatures on my chickens!

Hi gang, While giving one of my chickens a general look over, I saw afew small white/slightly transluscent mite (?) type things on my girls back. They were very small, say 3mm or less. Does anyone know what they are? Should I be worried? How do I get rid of them? Will the girls dust baths get rid? A...

Who-ever designed our coop didn't have ease of cleaning in mind! You have to be on your hands and knees, and only a real stretch means you don't have to crawl in to the reach the furthest corners. Poo is removed from the coop and run daily, any that falls on the garden stays where it falls. We're ne...

we've just got our three ladies, and so far they are only trouble when I'm trying to plant something, then they throw themselves underneath the spade! and drawing on the time issue, we're getting up 2 or 3 hours earlier, going to bed an 1 hour or so later, and spending that time pottering in the gar...

I love charity shops, and have no qualms about buying 2nd hand. It's cheap, supports a good cause and often has much more interesting clothes than the bland stuff in the big clothes shops. I've picked up some really nice wool blankets recently too. Paxo, come over to Derby, ignore Westfield and have...

Wow Seahorse, check you out! envy}}

I'm in Derby, and don't have a car so can't travel, but I'll keep looking.

And it's such an encouragement to hear how you've enjoyed the classes. I'll certainly check out the video sites.

:)
Thank you
