thanks helen i was origionally just going to make elderberry wine but i have heard its a bit of an aquired taste and that it is better to mix it with brambles so i am going to go for a 3 gallon batch today cheers stuart

today i picked 5lbs of brambles and 6lbs of elderberries and plan to make some bramble and elderberry wine can anybody give me an idiot proof rundown of how much sugar water etc this will need to make some nice plonk cheers stuart

im mainly annoyed with myself that i didnt get something done earlier but with the dark mornings and evenings its not always easy to keep an eye on the gang especially as i work full time and my wife being a total towny doesnt have a intrest in the chooks whatsoever roll on spring

hi sorry i havent replied said chicken is now an ex-chicken i dont know what the problem was but it appeared that it might have been an infection and the other chickens were having a bit of a peck just to finish the poor girl off

red inflamed bum

ive just gone out to check my chickens and i noticed one was looking a bit sorry for itself ive picked it up and its bum is all red and gunky now ive given it a bit of a clean what else can i do especially as no where is open today any advice would be much appreciated

got myself a bargain at homebase yesterday picked up the 12 rolls of 170mm knauf loft insulation that i ordered just over a week ago for 3 pound a roll.My local sheffield insulation wanted about 18 pound for exactly the same stuff my house is soon going to be toasty

hi all thanks for the posts i'm pretty used to the sterilizing process having made elderflower champagne in the summer so thats all good. i like the previous reply would recomend cutting a cheap growbag in half and grow a single tomato in each i have used this method for a few years now with great sucess it makes them a lot easier to water as well. the key to sucessfull tomato growing in growbags is making sure that they dont dry out ...
