Re: RUN roof or not roofSince the roof on our run has shade at all times, we use cler vinyl PalRuf. Re: WINTER TIMEWe have or severe homes too. What is your set-up? We will have insulation, electric waterers and heater tape for the water supply. I love bringing warm treats as many of you do.

Each evening I'm offering field cukes sliced lengthwise- they love the gel and seeds and will later eat the flesh of the cuke until nothing is left but the bitter skin. Another 3 days to go apparently, lots of water out and refreshed ...

Re: water bowl in the hen hut?I leave fresh water in the coop for when they wake up in the morning. Sometimes I leave a second 1-gal fountain on a platform in case some droppings get in the other. I know, I know, I'm a worry-wort.
