embden geesei have 4 fertile goose eggs, this is the 1st time ive tried with geese, is there any major differences between them and chickens, ive looked up on the web, but every one seems to have different ideas, should i spray them with water every day, or just 2-03 times a week?
Re: Quail incubating - 17 days today!wtg, i have a dozen chinese painted quail in the incy, im terrified of them hatching, its like looking at a bag of mini eggs, they are that tiny. on day 8 of incubating, ive decided that if they hatch im giving them to a friend, who is experianced in Quail, hope they all make it
Re: Brooder - will this suffice?be careful using a dog crate, the gaps between the bars are large enough for a 2-3 week old chicks to get through, , if you do use it use cardboard or something simmilar around the bottom half of the crate, a friend of mine did this and they were fine

Re: Wed, Sun or a bank holiday..!because live maggots eat whatever is in the crop causing the problem, sour crop is when the food they have eaten has not been digested overnight and turns bad, thats in layman terms lol, not sure of the correct terminology , people also feed live maggots for compacted crop
Re: Warningive often fed live mealworm to my girls, not to many at a time though, and when theyre free ranging in the garden they eat all sorts whole, from spiders, to worms and centipedes, and the occasional baby mouse, yukkkkkk, and id still give her layers pellets, not just mixed corn, hope shes on the mend...
Re: Peeling Eggsthey are probably to fresh, let them cool completely before peeling and wrap in kithcen towel and roll it along the work top, as if you were making a plasticine sausage, the shell should then peel a whole lot easier x
