Re: strange bottom- help needed!

It has been going on for sometime now and I have tried everything, I have concluded that it is pecking by the others as I have seen them having a go. There are a few explanations as to why hens pluck feathers out from themselves or each ot...

Re: self plucking

Evening guys, thanks for the advice. I gave a good check over today, no mite, she is not red in the slightest. I have put DE in the run many time and in their coop on a regular basis. I have added it to the dust bath and area they like to dig down. Today I gave her some tuna, and have been out to bu...

self plucking

Dixie has plucked her feathers out. She is allmost completely bald from the chest down towards her under belly. I thought it was one of the others that had been plucking from the rear of the others but that seems to have stopped as I sprayed them and it seemed to do the trick. She isn't having any o...

Re: feather plucking and eating

You might be right about the boredom..I let them out all evening yesterday and am going to try doing that each day..its difficult at the moment as I am home very little to keep an eye on them, the garden is pretty safe but if I were to let them have full run 24/7 it would be t...

Re: feather plucking and eating

Thanks for that Dave, There isn't any mounting going on just plucking feathers from the other birds bottoms and eating them (the feathers). Lillian has never been the most dominant of the girls in fact she has always been fairly subdued but she has been very noisy of late!! I see in your other messa...

Re: Gas/Electric

they have been known to alter the amount at the same time as informing you..there is often a a bit of negotiating have to be done to get it reversed. And why should they have our money up front..more profits for them. Reading some of the reviews..people have had them suggest much higher payments tha...

Re: Gas/Electric

just checked out the comparison site, I think you have to be very careful with the information on offer. I have read through a lot of the customer reviews and they are pretty enlightening. I think the biggest problem as I see it is that whilst a supplier is offering you a slightly better deal what t...
