I supose they are also going to ban free range chickens and eggs are they ?..I wouldnt like to think about what they eat... Anyway Mealworms and Maggots are still on the menu as well as the fat juicy earthworms, wood louse etc that they find...Maggie..

Hi HenPen I always give mine live maggots when they are moulting, also sunflower hearts and a food dollop of cod liver oil in their mash.Good for their feathering, and keeps them warm. Hpe she soon feels better..Maggie....

Maggie, So sorry about your little lady. I also live on my own, about 3 months ago Foxy got n and killed all 16 of my lovely lovely girls,just ripped their heads off and left them..I had to take a deep breath and do as Chookmike adv. I now it wont be easy but best get it over and done with...P>S ......

Hi Duncan, how lovely they are,just googled them, not much info is there.found more on an USA forum..apparantlry not tolerant of cold weatherPerhaps be worth contacting the breeder..Ive put them on my want list, when I can find a breeder.. Maggie..

Alberta, What colour are her legs they start to go back to bright yellow as they were as chicks,this is the unused yolks going back into their system.. At the rate she has laid she deserves a long and happy retirement... Maggie....

Hi Georgina, They certainly can give you the runaround can't they..I found the easiest and and most effective treatment is to smear Vaseline on their legs, do it from the feet upwards and it will go under the scales and suffocate the mites. I do it once a fortnight ish.or when i think about it.. Goo...
