Re: Chicken weightsLOL, my girls freak out at the sight of the cat basket! I'm guessing you weighed them both together then minussed the carriers weight? Couldn't think of any other way to get a chook to sit still on the scales long enough. LOL Interesting that your smallest girl isn't the lightest. When i read the th...
Re: Bored ChooksWow, that's loads of chooks! I only have two at the moment. To keep my monsters occupied I've tried several things with varying degrees of success. • Shop bought pecking block - ignored • Home made pecking block with mealworms and sweetcorn - a hit • hang their cabbage or sweetcorn cob from the roof...
Re: ukadex sprayAs chicken_house_man says - it really stinks so wear old clothes because it lingers too. To me it smells a bit like creasote and cigarettes and took three showers for me to get rid of the smell. It often works though. It can coat the feathers in a sticky brown coating so you'll know if you've put to...

Re: My hobbyI can draw most animals as long as the references are good enough quality. Most of the pics there on my link were commisions from friends (the german shepherd is a rather handsome and HUGE working police dog called Jake) or paintings I've enjoyed doing myself and have sold at local exhibitions.
Re: Poo eating dog!I had my chooks on the lawn yesterday behind some wire moveable fencing. To keep the girls off my Borders and my pooch (terrier/lurcher cross) away from the girls. I heard a concerned call from the girls and rushed out to find gina, said pooch, enthustiastically munching on their chicken poop inside ...

Re: Giving enough food..I'd let them have feed available ad-lib.
I trust you don't have a certain Mr Roland and his ratty friends helping themselves either? then there's always the greedy woodies!
Re: HELP!!!Could you get some citricidal too? It is extract of grapefruit seed and has been used for many years as a natural anti-viral to cure colds. You simply add one or two drops to a pint of water. It is a good anti-bacterial, even safe for human use too so I'd guess you could buy some in a health food sh...

Mash all the way now If you have a feeder with the little dividers (Like spokes of a wheel) it shoud be harder for them to 'hoik' the food out |
