Re: anyone allergic to wasp stings?

Julie, he's had waspstings before but never reacted to them. I feel our immune systems are quite complex & taking antihistamines for a long time may affect it somehow, after all an allergy is our system over reacting isn't it? I had a weird allergy years ago, in desperation I saw a brilliant ho...

Re: Rebounding

Ah - Sorry! I didn't realise she was annoying - I was watching it with the sound turned right down as OH was watching TV in same room! I was just interested in the variety of moves she came up with - all I managed to think of when I tried it was boinging gently up and down... Have you bought a boing...

Re: Rebounding

If you are interested Rhubarb, the book I bought was THIS ONE and it is written by an older lady specifically for those with health problems. As I am falling apart bit by bit, I decided on this gentle one rather than one more suited to olympic contortionists! Thanks, Helen There are some good vids ...

Re: Rebounding

I've kept the mini trampoline we had for my daughter when she was small with the idea I might use it to exercise - didn't know it had a special name, though! Have been a bit cautious about it as I had a knee injury a while back and didn't want to push my luck until things strengthened up a bit, but ...

Glad it worked.
I like your granny squares, Helen, lovely colours. I've been doing some with a daisy in the centre but getting a bit bored with them now so might try your design for a change.

Re: The Returned

Yes, I too am really looking forward to The Return of The Returned!
Normally I hate anything with violence in it on TV, but this was so well done it was totally gripping. And lots of unexplained/unresolved ends to pick up.

Re: The long earth / the long war

Found the Long Earth in the library recently, and really enjoyed it. I think more Pratchett than Baxter. Followed it with some Baxter, which i didn't warm to at all.
Didn't know the next one was out already, so will look for that now,
Thanks, Don R

Re: little green apples

Don't think you are doing anything wrong, if the tree is loaded with fruit it often drops some. Allows the ones that are left to grow to a better size. Some folk purposely remove some of the fruit in order to get bigger ones.

Re: Microwaved beetroot

How about beetroot crisps? Better than paying extortionate price for veg crisps in the shops. Thin slices, sling in plastic bag with a little oil, shake around, lay out in single layer on plate and microwave til crisp. Yummy! Sound good. Can this method be used for other root veg? Yes, I've done it...

Herbaceous short lived plant (few years) that seeds itself. Leave it if you like or remove it's up to you.

Yes, that's it - thanks!

Plant ID, please?

We have a plant in our garden - actually lots of it - that is just coming to the end of flowering. It is around 2ft tall, with bright magenta flowers, 5-petalled, around 1" across, and silver grey foliage. Sorry, no pics, haven't got into doing that. It seeds fairly freely round the garden. I'm...

Yeah, we have the same walking in woods near here. They can't possibly watch/pooh pick them all. Just greedy people on the make.
