Re: Chickens and chopped strawWe use hay that we get from the local farm. We did use straw at one point but we found when cleaning out the poop we would be throwing away most of the straw!! We are trying shredded paper for now, just until we can get to the farm shop for more hay. The shredded paper seems fine for our girls.

My question is: When a chicken lays an egg how long is it until they get broody and will sit on the egg? As soon as we see an egg to take it out anyway, but i was just wondering really. |
