Re: when do they stop laying?I've been getting two eggs a day from my four ex batts since I got them in October, but since the snow started last weekend I've been getting three a day!?
Thank you PerchyThank you Perchy for your help with my wobbly chicken. I've been separating her at afternoon treat time and giving her fishy cat food ( the others had a bit too) and she's looking much better, in fact she had me chasing her round the garden last night to get get her back in the run. Thanks again
Re: Patti's wobblyOh thank you Perchy that sounds just like it, I'll pop to the shop and get some cat food, I've got some marmite. I feel so sorry for her, she a lovely girl.
Patti's wobblyOne of my ex batts patti has been off colour recently, she's moulted and is now growing back her feathers. I let her out to free range today and she can't seem to walk straight, she looks like she's drunk and is walking sideways and falling over. She's eating and drinking OK. Any ideas?
Moult questionI've has my 4 lovely ex batts for three weeks and they were doing great but now patti and Selma are moulting and they won't go into the coup at night. Up until now they have all snuggled up to each other in the nest box but the last couple of nights I've had to pick them up and put them to bed. The ...

Re: Pics of our girls. Thanks everyone for your nice comments. Hi Mrs B there's pictures of our coop on the Members chicken coop photo's thread if you'd like a look but I think ours is different to yours.
Re: Pics of our girls.I know , my six year old sits talking to them for ages but I'm amazed how my 14 year old has taken to them, he comes in from school and straight out the back door to see them, he even goes out in his PJ's when he gets up in the morning.
Pics of our girls. We had a lovely afternoon in the garden with the girls yesterday, I didn't realise what perfect pets they make for kids, so funny and gentle! Wish I'd got them years ago! Plus we've had a lovely boiled egg breakfast this morning with the six eggs they've laid since we got them on Wednesday!! http://...
Re: Finally got our girls! Thanks a lot for the tips, I suppose I'll learn as I go along.
I love the jumpers Perchy, best not let my kids see them or they'll have me knitting them weather they need them or not!
Re: Finally got our girls!Aww the poor things, mine have got some bald patches mainly on their chests and tails. I've got one of these http://www.flytesofancy.co.uk/chickenhouses/Economy_Drinkers___Feeders.html But they keep filling it with sand and shavings, I've also put a plastic tub in as well but they keep tipping it ov...
Re: Finally got our girls! Thanks everyone, we've had a lovely afternoon with them, we let them have the run of the garden and fed them pasta, it was hilarious watching them chasing each other round with it. I do wish they'd stop tipping their water over though.
Re: Finally got our girls! My Son's three are called Patti, Selma and Lisa (from the Simpsons) and my husbands named the fourth Buckethead, ( I had to let him because he built the coop).
Re: Finally got our girls!Aww thank you, I'm very proud of them. They are in pretty good condition , a bit scruffy and a couple of bald patches, that's all. We had two eggs this morning but one was very soft and cracked, the other was perfect and when my little boy picked it up it was still warm, he was amazed and showed eve...
