I have even tried just sitting in the run with them to see if they get used to me , but to no avail...they just flap and sqwark and make a right din!!

when will they trust me?

I have had my girls now for 7 months, im out there everyday with them whilst they roam the garden...Elbie will eat from my hand but Annie and Molly wont come anywhere near me..so i have yet to hold them to give them health checks..just worried ill never be able just to pick them up as they still don...

hi!! i only use wood chips i find they are perfect for runs..many people dont like them, but i lay mine around 3 inches deep dont worry about liner, and rake around every other day ( to keep help keep dry) and change them one a month...the girls love to spread them around aswell so just leave a pile...

wow they look identical to my three i get every day, Elbie my welsummer layes very dark red/brown eggs and my two bantams lay one little white one and and regular egg size and colour!!, yet Elbie today has layed a very strange deformed egg??

wll i just went out to collect my daily surprises from my girls, and wow what a surprise, Elbie my welsummer has layed the most strange egg ever!! main egg is ok then it comes to the end and the egg has gone long wih a knobbly bit on the end??? whats happened???

Welcome....it is vey exciting but very difficult to know what to do for the best!!!...i was given my first chick (2weeks old) as a present from my daughter back in september!!! so 5 months on and £600 poorer and two more girls around the same age i have had my third egg today from my first girl!!!!....

Wow...i am so excited!!!..all my girls are finally laying...three today all different sizes and different colours which is the most exciting bit!! elbie my baby girl (23 weeks old) yet the biggest laid her 3rd ever egg a couple hours ago....and i just ate it with soliders...and yum yum was it good!!...

I aswell use woodchips which my o.h brings home from work (works on a golf course) we change it every month its great to see new fresh dry chips around 4 inches deep and the girls love to get straight in and start pecking around, we put all the old chippings on the boarders in the garden and our nei...
