Line of Duty!

Line of Duty is back on BBC. Mrs Fab and I are fans though appreciate it might not be everyone's cup of tea.

Re: Air Fryers - anyone use one?

I am looking to get an Air Fryer, just to make chips in really. Can anyone recommend a good model/make ? I couldn't recommend one as such as we have only ever had the one we got given. Here is a link to an Amazon web page for ours but I don't think it is made any more. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sign...

Re: How many of you have had your Covid jab?

I agree with Ilona that we need to be very careful with what we hear and read. The vaccine is currently being rolled out to people who are categorised as being at risk, a demographic were we would expect some to die of blood clots, strokes, heart attacks and the like. After all, over 20 million peop...

Re: How many of you have had your Covid jab?

I am completely fine today. So my experience has been; felt really rough the first night with a slightly raised temperature, a bit lethargic the next day and took a couple of paracetamol, next day back to normal. I would personally urge everyone who can to have the jab. Whatever the side effects it ...

Re: How many of you have had your Covid jab?

I has a couple of paracetamol last night as I felt a bit rough. I wouldn't say I felt 100% this morning but certainly much better than last night but just the same going to take it easy today.

Re: How many of you have had your Covid jab?

I had my first Astra-Zenica jab this morning.

Again, so well organised at our local medical centre - in and out in 10 minutes. Just feeling a bit fluey tonight, though hopefully that won't last long and I am sure it is a 100 times better than getting Covid.

Re: Done my first Covid test at home

Second Covid test, done on Sunday, has come back negative.

This means that, as from tomorrow, I no longer have to isolate and will just be under the same restrictions as the rest of the general population. It also means that I can leave the house and go for a walk or a run outside :-D

There's nothing to them really. For chips, you just add a teaspoon of oil, put your potatoes in the basket and switch the thing on for 20 minutes.

Air Fryers - anyone use one?

We got given an air fryer last year by a friend who had one but had never used it. I wasn't sure if it would be much use but was happy to give it a try. It does potato chips pretty well and we have used it for roasting other vegetables. I also heard that you can make a pretty decent toasted cheese s...

Gwenoakes wrote: 03 Mar 2021, 08:59 Is that £210 for each test or the total, Michael?
Fortunately, that is for the both tests but as you say far cheaper than hotel quarantine.

Test 1 came back negative today, so I just need a negative for test 2 next week than I can book my Covid jab.

Thai Fruit Salad

I visited my son Josh on an island called Phi Phi (pronounced Pee Pee) just before I left Thailand. Phi Phi is only a very small island and he has been there about 4 years so he knows everyone and the places to eat cheap and local. We just had fruit salad for lunch every day. Thai fruit salad is som...

Done my first Covid test at home

I did my first Covid test at home yesterday and sent it off. The rules for people returning from abroad from non-red list countries are we have to self-quarantine at home for 10 days and submit a Covid test on days 2 and 8. These go off to an NHS testing centre but are not free, I have had to pay £2...

Glad it went well.

I have had a text from our doctors' surgery asking me to book an appointment so need to get on to that tomorrow.

How many of you have had your Covid jab?

Interested to know how it's going back UK. The weather looks as if has been awful so won't help with older people going out to get vaccinated.

Stay safe folks.

Finished my 68k 'Turtle Run'

The 2020 (extended into January 2021) Mia Khao Marine Turtle Foundation annual run, which I have ran previously, was cancelled this year due to covid. Instead it was a 'virtual' event which basically means you had to run the distance on your own and record the distance on your smart watch or phone. ...
