Could'nt even entertain that about hotdog sausages. They are just the scrappings off the floor off the pigs!. Believe me!

Re: Bread by hand

I make bread but use the Kenwood to mix the dough. It takes about 8-9 minutes to knead the dough, and then I putit on top of the range to rise. Knock back by hand and leave to rise again.
Lovely dough and bread :-D

Re: Helen's frugal Feb

Just get on with making ends meet. We are here in Co. Mayo. It's going to ne a challenge, what with OUR latest budget. I'm sure all in the U.K. have been reading about the Republic. Sorry state of affairs!

Re: Calling all wine makers!

I've never had to wait three years for a country wine to mature. Usually between six to 12 months. In between we make the wine in kit form to keep us going :-D

Re: Anniversary cross stitch

It's absolutely lovely. Well Done. I am really cross-stitch mad. Have so many projects on the go at the moment it's madness. Where do you get your stitching stuff from. It's so expensive over here, I have had to resort to buying from England and it's still cheaper! I have ordered from a place called...

Re: Daft ways to save money

This is my opinion. If you use sachets of shampoo, soap, sauce, whatever and they are not emptied, then yes ok to take them and finish off. But if you take unopened ones, and you are to be leaving the room that day, that's not on at all. Then people complain the price of the room is going up or the ...

Cross Stitch Threads

I really am in to Cross Stitch, and was wondering if anyone knew where I could get cheap threads from. Here in the Republic they cost me 1.05 Euro, and metallic ones are 2.50 Euro. Per thread!. Yep, mind boggling. Help Please!

Helen, you bought salad tonight! I'm still picking tomatoes, (although a couple at a time), lettuce leaves are still in abundance. Onions are drying. Beetroot is still being picked. And all this in the West of Ireland!

Re: WATER SAVING TIPS

We have been on a Water Meter for about three years now. It's difficult to focus on saving water at the beginning, but it does get easier with practise. We have four water barrels attached to various corners of the house roof and the sheds, ( could do with more really ). One of the barrels has a tap...
