The company is called Roof Revive just wondered if anyone else had used them? They basically change your conservator...

Re: Damn foxes

I had one of the worse days in keeping livestock on Monday, a fox managed to jump my 6 foot wire fence and it killed 45 of my hens - I am devastated I knew each one and wept as I had to pick them up to dispose of them. The up side to my livestock is my Oxford sandy and black giving birth to her firs...

Curing Pork

I wonder if anyone could tell me how to cure pork, we have our own pigs which we sell as half pigs but would like to start curing and making hams and bacon, any links or help would be great!

Thanks

Feeding hens greens

Can anyone tell me if its really necessary to feed greens to hens, all mine are free range but they have completely striped the grass away, i feel guilty as I can't move them to a new patch as its a very large fixed run.

I do give veg when I can but not sure this is enough. :?

Re: New cockerel which one

I would say it will have a good dozen to go at! Do you think I should stick to a breed I already have?

Re: New cockerel which one

The Marsh daisy has about 12, as the other two are so small they stick to there partners, the run which has no cockerel will have around 20 hens

Quite a varied range! Black Rock, White Stars, Bluebells, Marsh Daisy, crested leghorns, Blue orpingtons, Welsummers, Warren, Rhode island reds, Marans and lavender pekins. I have a Marsh Daisy cockerel but he lives in a different run, the cockerel we had died (he was a orpington). The Marsh daisy c...
