Re: Down to two ladies now.........

Hi Gwen, I have also lost hens. In the last 6 months I have lost 9 hens and only have three left. I also lost my cat, Tiger who was 17 years old, a couple of weeks ago and feel very much like you that I am jinxed and I'm not sure if I want to get any more pets, at least for a while. Don't think you'...

Re: Top Chick

Just thought I would let you know that Top Chick died in her sleep on Friday morning. She was a lovely friendly girl and I will miss her snaffling the cat's food and nicking my coffee. I'm sure she had EYP at the end but she hasn't been 100% for a couple of months. I think she thought she was a full...

Re: HRUK - 2nd May

Sorry I haven't been on-line for a while but I have re-directed 15 different people to the hen rehomers website in the last week from ads placed on-line.
They may be too late for this rescue but will hopefully be willing to wait for the next.

Go girls!! )pty )pty )pty

It left me with a smile on my face for the rest of the day, Kate.

I don't drive so don't see the animals killed on the road.

The closest I usually knowingly get to wildlife is what the cats used to bring in before they got too old.

It was magical (f+

My one is just like Popalops, but bigger. Also raised on a tree stump like his.

They still get all muddy from dirty beaks.

You can get drip feeders but mine would rather drink out of a mddy puddle so I'm quite happy with mine (f+

Weasel

I went to my allotment yesterday. I was just having a break when I saw a little brown body run across the weed-cover and then - yes - a weasel running across my allotment.

Only the second time I've ever seen one and it made my day.

Just thought I'd share!! (f+

P.S. I saw a weasel!!!

Thanks Al, what a lovely gesture )t'

My allotments aren't too bad but I wouldn't want to get chucked off for something little like selling excess produce, not that I'd tell them. LOL

Just can't wait to get some produce this year (f+

I've got three new beds (after 10years!) and in my sunniest one I am going to put fruit. I already have some strawberries and just planted some rhubarb and will get some fruit bushes this weekend. Are you thinking Wilcos Misty? They have black and redcurrants, green & red gooseberries, blueberr...

You can visit my allotment if you like, Al I would love something like that! One word of warning re your produce (and please correct me if I'm wrong) but I was under the impression that it was against allotment rules to sell the produce you grew. Although I believe it is fine to sell or rent someon...

2: The worst thing is, someone round here has a dog and throws bags of it's poo on the ground, instead of taking it home. I mean, whoever it is has already gone to half the trouble of picking it up - why on earth are they dropping it on the path?! There was 3 bags under the hedge of 2 doors down, o...

Hi Mousy. I used dog nail clippers on mine. You just need to cut them if they're affecting how they walk or get about. Otherwise I would leave them alone. If you do need to cut them, the wick is a lot longer than you think so don't cut them too short and have a dish of flour ready in case there is a...
