Garden Planning

Hello wise people! It has been ages since I've been down the lane (December 2014 in fact)

Could anyone give me any recommendations for garden planning? Are there any good apps or websites? We have a fairly blank canvas to work with.

Thanks, Effie

Re: Tatting

My Gran and I learned to tat together about 25 years ago. She produced many more finished items than I did because she had more time. I looked it up again recently as my children are now old enough to learn, there is a lot of information on YouTube. I don't have a shuttle or the time to try at the m...

Lots of Parsley

Hi, I wasn't sure what topic this counted as so I guessed 'vegetables'! Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can use/store a glut of parsley, please?

TIA

We made some when I was on Brownie pack holiday aged 10. There was a Lion, Witch & Wardrobe theme. It went mouldy before we got to take it home :?

Re: Manda and Marmite

I love food. I am not a fussy eater. I can't understand that if there is something which is officially food, that I can't like it. No so with Marmite. Sometimes, when I've had a few (this happens very rarely, you realise) I will try eating marmite on toast because I can't believe that I don't like i...

Re: Timing crocus flowering

We chose for the girls to plant bulbs as part of a badge to celebrate 25 years since the county /region we are in was established. They had to do 12 activites involving 25 of something or linked to 1987 or 'silver' things; they recycled 25 items, collected 25 silver coins for charity, interviewed ad...

Re: Timing crocus flowering

Somewhat after the event, I realised I haven't let you know how it went, Maggie. Apart from one girl, out of 25, they all took home pots with buds, ready to burst. Perfectly timed and very much appreciated by the Mums. Each child felt really special because they knew they had planted the pot themsel...

Re: very easy Jammy Dodgers recipe

I add semolina flour in pizza base dough, it really makes a difference to the taste and texture. These look yummy, will give them a try, thanks for the recipe.

Re: Do People Really Eat This Stuff?

I love black pudding, good quality ones from Bury market, some can be a bit rubbish. I'll eat haggis but don't often get the chance. My Mum's steak and cow heel pie is to die for. Getting harder to find a butcher who can provide cow heel, though. If you think about it, meat and offal are all parts o...

Re: Timing crocus flowering

Just to keep you up to date, all bulbs up with just a few leaves, no buds that I noticed so the lucky Mums will either be getting just opening croci or pots full of leaves! The cover of the cloche blew off so they are now outdoors completely.

Re: Selling kitchen units

Hubby went for surgery in January so all put on hold, we have an exchange student with us from 12th March and the skip arrives the day before she leaves on 21st March. The kitchen fitter has told us they will remove them fit for reuse, we just nee to get them on eBay. He was quite relaxed about the ...

Re: Native American Cross stitch

Fantastic, Wendy. I opened the thread thinking North American Cross stitch was different to the conventional cross stitch. Dim or what!

Just what I thought too, Spreckly. That makes two dim ones!

Lovely work, I am the master of the half finished cross-stitch
