there is a common perseption that chooks "look after themselves" it's not always a case of bad people quite a lot it's just pure ignorance, it seems to me that you have gone some way to educating your neighbors, give them a chance to learn and change :-D

mine have took to sleeping out side, four chooks on top of a bin 2ft X 1ft, so now I wait till nearly dark and put them in the hut.

Same here and my chickens do more miles than the bike too


He's plainly a fair weather biker like me lmao (but I have to do the chooks in all weathers)

I did a quick outlay verses (financial) return and basically I reckon if I'm lucky they might just pay for themselves in their lifetime but I'm not holding my breath :-D

Funny I was just coming on to ask the same question, I have a a frame coop so put a triangle door in it with sides about 8 inches long, way too small now the chooks are fully grown, so my plan is to do what you are doing ,was thinking along the lines of about a foot :-D
