Re: Avian Flu!!The potential for a penalty is a little scary, especially if a neighbour fancies reporting you - it does seem to apply to anyone with at least one chicken. I have a pen with a mesh roof so hoping that's OK - wild birds can't get to the drinker or feeder.

Hen died 3 weeks after I got herI bought a couple of Point-of-Lay ISA Browns 3 weeks ago and one has just died but the other is fine. She did seem a bit less active than the other so perhaps she'd been ill for a bit but otherwise seemed fine. My older hens all seem well so I'm a bit confused as to what was wrong. Just unlucky?

Ex-batt needs home - Leatherhead, SurreyI need to rehome one of my ex-batts as she's bullying one of my others quite badly and as I'm away from home for 12 hours each day I can't keep an eye on them. She isn't laying too well at the moment - maybe an egg a week. I'm near Leatherhead, Surrey if anyone's interested.
IMO the smaller the number you have the larger the area each needs as they like to run about and feel free! I currently have 4 that have access to up 1100 sq ft if I have all three pens open or about 400 sq ft if just the main one. As I have to work off just using the main one somtimes I'd have to j...
