Re: Those with Dogs and chickens

I think it totally depends on the individual dog and possibly the breed of dog. I have a 6 year old Shih Tzu who is smaller than the hens and he has great respect for our hens to the point he will walk round them rather than get too close, but my dog doesn't have any inclination to chase anything ev...

Re: Queenie - Guide Dog for The Blind Puppy

Hi yeah very excited but trying not to get my hopes up to much cos if she's poorly they won't bring her till the week after, the puppies quite often get poorly tummys with all the stress from leaving their Mum and going into the breeding centre for a few days where they are vaccinated and microchipp...

Re: hedgehog chicken

A reassuring photo )t' my two Orpingtons are looking rather odd at the moment one has no tail feathers and the other has a bald chest and neck.

Please tell me that they don't lose all their feathers or I'm gonna have to buy them little jumpers!

Re: Queenie - Guide Dog for The Blind Puppy

Yeah I've been told that. Having had a Lab pup before I remember not being able to go anywhere without people wanting to fuss them so I would imagine it's very difficult with a Guide dog pup. I will have to practice my firm but polite "please don't distract the pup while she's training!" W...

Re: Queenie - Guide Dog for The Blind Puppy

Thank you for all your lovely replies, I just hope we can do her justice and don't do anything to ruin her chances of making it as a Guide Dog (75% of the puppies qualify as Guide Dogs) We gets lots of support from our Puppy Walker Supervisors (PWS) and I have a friend who puppy walks (on her 4th pu...

Re: Why do they do that?

Mine run at top speed in to their covered run at the slightest bit of rain, they really don't like the rain and they're Orpingtons too so it just shows how they can differ!
