Puppy Walking for Guide Dogs for the Blind

We have been thinking about doing this for a while now, anyway took the plunge yesterday and made contact, we fit the basic criteria so am now waiting to hear from them what the next step in the application process is. I've been chatting with a lady who is on her 3rd puppy and she's helped answer a ...

Chicken attack

Hubby is being bullied by our hens, yesterday sat out having breakfast and he was mugged for his toast straight out of his hand! Today he is relaxing reading sunday papers and eating lunch in the garden rocking chair, hen jumps up onto arm of chair grabs at his butty and in all the commotion sends g...

Peoples reactions to your Chooks?

We live on a busy corner in suburbia, close to a primary school, so a lot of people walk past our garden, it always makes me smile when someone is walking past the fence (its 7 foot high so they can't see in the garden) and the chooks are making a noise, I've seen people stop and listen and look qui...

Re: One of those days(girls only!!)(?)

Yep I can sympathise with how your feeling, Hubby just keeps biting his tongue and avoids doing anything that might wind me up, which is hard cos most things annoy me when I'm feeling like that. Usually just want to be left alone and eat chocolate!! Problem is now my daughters getting hormonal, God ...

What breed are the chickens at Alton Towers?

Has anyone been to the farm at Alton Towers? we went and they had these fabulous big chickens wandering around, I think they may of been Cochins cos they had feathered legs. It was these that made hubby want hens but we couldn't find any Cochins available so ended up with Orpingtons, but we still ha...

Re: Spots and dry skin on a 10 year old, advice needed pleas

Thanks for asking Said it is hormone related, gave her some cream for her dry skin and suggested some over the counter remedies may be worth a try first before she prescribes anything harsher. So we got some gentle toner and some Witch stick for the spots. Dr said it was trial and error to see what ...
