Re: A bank and ground cover suggestions

That's great. Thankyou very much for the ideas, lots of googling to follow now..... I really am a novice! I like the idea of the weed suppressant material. Already got bliters from te pickaxing! and yes, the soil is all falling down the bank. Its quite a steep bank I would say the gradient is 45 deg...

A bank and ground cover suggestions

Hi Just been out with the pick axe. We have moved house and have a bank that needs planting. It is about 15mtres long and about 3 metres from ground to the top. At the moment it is covered by that spreading buttercup plant and clumps of grass, dock leaves etc, you get the general idea. It needs clea...

Re: 75 Year Old Body Builder - what do you think?

If its that same black lady I saw on the news the other morning.
In awe, totally in awe, what discipline! Just goes to show what exercise and positive mental thought (you have to have that if you are serious about working out) can have.
Truly inspiring.

Re: food heaven and food hell

Food heaven.....oh, it so depends on your mood doesn't it. I would go for nice steak with garlic sauce chips and peas. Hello. Things that contain sand and guts, a concoction of molluscs and bivalves. Snails, muscles, cockles. I think anything that lives in shell and you are supposed to eat the whole...

anybody ever made a calzone?

I have never tried one even, I like home made pizza so guessing it might be good. I always thought they were called calzones because they are full of calories? Don't know that might ne why, or maybe its traditional? Are they traditional or just a made up version of pizza. Who knows anything about th...

Re: whats your favourite salad reciepe?

Swallow ) mouth watering! I made a very nice rice salad on sat morning. And had it for breakfast ! I had some rice left over and it looked way more tasty than toast, and it was ready for the spoon. I'm not so good with pasta salad, I find that all the "bits" drop to the bottom and you don'...

Re: whats your favourite salad reciepe?

Lovely ideas. I have never had celaric raw, only cooked. Never bought fennel either. You have given me some great ideas, especially the fruit, pineapple would be lovely and melon.
Ready to start experimenting !

moving raspberry plants now?

I have raspberry plants which were planted out last winter, they have been very poorly potted in silly stupid pots, don't know what I was thinking, but they r in window boxes which r way too small and being very encroached with grass. Should I move them now, they won't die will they, I know its the ...
