Re: How to feel more awake?

A while back I too had problems sleeping. It's possible that you are having little aches and pains you're really not aware of. Thinking that might be my problem, I took a couple aspirin before I went to bed -- and I did sleep better. If you think it might help, give it a try. Can't hurt. Hope you ge...

Re: Saving 30,000 calories a year

I have a breadmaker too, but bought the Sara Lee because I was trying to count my calories. Gotta have bread of some kind. Love it. And I sure agree about potatoes. They are good no matter how they are cooked. My favorite is baked with lots of butter and sour cream!

Wendy, how long did your bar last? Seems like mine only lasted about 2 weeks.

Re: Very frugal february

Too many changes all at once. Need to do some serious thinking about the life I'm leading. You're right, Manda. Being alone has to have an impact.

Re: Saving 30,000 calories a year

Do you guys get Sara Lee bread there? It's the brand I buy and it's only 45 calories per slice. Very good, too.

Darn! It didn't work! My cramps were awful last night. You're right and I will open a new bar tonight.

Re: Very frugal february

Thanks, Mrs. Boodles. Maybe you're right. I have been strict, possibly too much. I do appreciate your message and caring. I'll make myself relax more.

Re: Very frugal february

Got a kind of weird question. Trying to be frugal and not waste gasoline, I have been staying home a lot, only turning on lights in the room I am in, keeping the thermostat turned down and wearing a jacket inside. This evening I had to admit to myself that I feel kind of lonely and depressed, even r...

Re: The BBC - the Bad Back Club!

here's something you might consider. Several years ago I was having the same problem with lower back pain both sides. I thought it was my sciatic nerve so went to a chiropractor. She examined me and sent me to the hospital for X rays. As it turned out, I need hip replacement. The sudden pains upon m...

Wendy's soap

I wasn't able to find Wendy's blog about soap in bed, so I will post this here in hopes she may see it. I was having the same problem -- the soap appeared to stop working and I was getting night cramps in my feet and legs again. I decided to try something. Using a metal pot scratcher, I went over th...

Re: Leave packaging at the supermarket.

Boy do I ever agree with everyone here! I'm so sick of boxes and shrink wrap. I did see something the other day when I was checking out at the grocery store. In the next checkout, a couple were buying a lot of groceries, and she pulled out about ten cloth bags and they did not take any plastic or pa...

Re: Perchy's Pennywatching Frugal Diary

Was wondering about something. Several of you have talked about cooking large amounts and freezing for future meals. Are any of you single like I am and still cook that way?

Re: Very frugal february

I did two more things that you might consider frugal. I had quite a few potatoes in a big sack in the pantry that were starting to get old and soft. I sorted out the best of them, washed and then boiled them whole. Since then I have fixed myself fried potatoes one night and hashbrowns the next. Stil...

Re: Spreckly's attempts at frugality

I am presently getting the local(est) newspaper delivered, but will not renew when it runs out. I can read it on line, as I can with magazines. Seems the only time I read a magazine is waiting in the doctor's office. lol
