Re: PURPLE comb & wattleI mix in garlic powder with my chooks feed (with a spash of cod liver oil) if any have purple combs - we used to have a very old girl and the garlic seemed to help whenever her comb went purple - also I hope it will put off mites and lice if they don't like garlic tasting chicken blood.

They range from 4 month olds to some ancient ex battery hens that are 5 years old. If you still need a home will gladly add her to my flock.
