Hi, Yes the shed's wind proof, it's fairly new and shiplap. I've been going over and blocking all the small places where it might get in. Just thought I'd be cold without my duvet!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will give them lots of straw and hope for the best. Thanks

I'm 900 feet up in the mountains of Mid Wales and the cold winds can get very fierce.

Hi, Daisy, my light sussex hen was caught by a dog. She lost all the feathers on her lower back (the thickly padded bit from the tail up) but no puncture wounds. Thanks for the suggestions. The roof is Tongue and Groove so think it might be ok with a good gloss paint as you say, Totally Scrambled. Might resort to onduline but would prefer wood if it's possible. Will post in a year or two if paint's no good!!!!!

Weatherproofing a wooden roof

I am just converting a shed to a hen house but have read that you shouldn't use roofing felt as mites breed under it. Any suggestions how to waterproof the wooden roof please?
