Re: Poorly Tigs

Well we have a new heart murmur. Some pain relief to try if she looks as uncomfortable as she did last night but we have to watch her if we use it as her kidneys weren't too good a couple of years ago. She has unfortunately list a further 80g in under a month and is down to 2.5kg. However she is muc...

Poorly Tigs

Our cat Tigs is a tortoiseshell moggie we've had her since just after our honeymoon in 1998. A couple of xmas's ago we thought her number was up. She lost weight. A lot of weight she is a small cat anyway but is way underweight now and has been since that November of 2013. Our vet has been wonderful...

Re: The Awesome Foursome!

So it's been a short while now. Garden looks like a garden. An empty garden. No belle. No Hedwig. No May. No Fawkes No immense eggs. I noticed the lack in my daughters muffin she'd baked just not quite as good... I want some girls back. But I still feel it'd be wrong. My neighbour from next door but...

Re: The Awesome Foursome!

None of mine were in the run when found. I don't think having space to get away really helps. Bodies found over 2 hundred feet apart. Please be vigilant. My lovely dad in his 70's came today with his boots and gloves and completed the clean up operation I'd not been able to finish. Dad's are lovely ...

Re: The Awesome Foursome!

Thank you Karen. Not yet. I simply can't. There are still stray feathers. I'm not sure I could consider putting new girls in my garden when a fox knows there is a food supply. It's almost as if I'm signing them away. Mr Kat is very keen to get more but he just saw them as the chooks not a proper pet...

Re: The Awesome Foursome!

Today has been utterly horrid. My wonderful husband dealt with the remains of my girls as I simply couldn't. I was actually called into work first thing so wasn't even present. A small blessing. Yesterday after work it was too dark to clear up. This morning after the removal of my girls I cleaned th...

Re: A Fox?

My daughters went outside to give them the usual joy of a free range. It was one of their jobs after school. Along with the care of our horse and other pets. Our run was broken. There were feathers everywhere. I'm not sure how he got in there were breaks in 3 areas but my girls panicking could've ca...

All four are here although there isn't alot of Hedwig left unfortunately.

8 feet of fencing still wasn't enough. Have to think hard about the future

A Fox?

My daughters returned from school today to find all four of our girls dead.

They were fine this morning when I fed them and collected eggs before work.

Do foxes attack in broad daylight? None of them are missing. Such a shock. Am feeling quite unwell over it all.

Sleep tight girlies x x x

Re: The Awesome Foursome!

Well I've totally neglected this diary. Excuses well I've been busy setting up a new service at work and training for it. Believe me though my girls haven't gone without! In January we had a change of circumstance which resulted in us loaning my daughters pony. She had well out grown him but we coul...

Re: Farmgate pellets or should I try others?

I buy whatever is available from wherever I happen to be passing. Often countrywide as we get horses feed there too. Mine aren't in the least fussy... Unless I don't let them into the run at daybreak. Then they turn into hen versions of a toddler I haven't noticed a change in egg yolk apart from whe...
