Re: Running out of clothes

Hi! Haben Sie einen guten Weihnachts Marji Richard Danke! Weihnachten war sehr schön! I just want to say hello again. Today I was cleaning my room and found the note where I had written down my username and password and remembered being here. Live is really good at the moment for me. Everything. I b...

Re: Running out of clothes

I would get a pair of shoes and save the rest of the money to replace items as they wear out. I bought a pair of sneakers today. They were on sale for only 10 €. They are quite comfortable and warm enough for the so called winter here ... Maybe I've missed something, but why aren't you working? Jus...

Re: Running out of clothes

Just wanted to say hello again! And want to ask for your opinions ... ;) It's about clothing, as always ... I have saved a bit of money last month and I got (surprisingly) a donation from extended family, so money is not so much of an issue at the moment. Thing is: I didn't buy anything yet, I hesit...

Re: Running out of clothes

Hi! I'm glad thigs are looking up a little. As Richard mentioned, some of us have had very hard times. Certainly I have. I remember those times now and try to help other people when I can. That's really kind. Not a thing everybody would do. I agree that you have to be sure to get some warm footwear ...

Re: Running out of clothes

Hi! Good to read that you have now got some changes of clothes. You could say, it was about time. Don't know what I would have done without my friends and their help. It's so good to have a few more things to wear (that are not falling apart). They don't fit properly (except the t-shirts). The sweat...

Re: Running out of clothes

Hi! Just wanted to say hello again. Regarding my last post, I wasn't at the charity shop. Well I was, but I couldn't myself get to go inside and ask for clothes. But I made it anyway. About one month with only a holey t-shirt, pants falling apart and half the month without shoes. But I made it. My f...

Re: Running out of clothes

Hi! Sometimes we have to swallow our pride and ask for help. Yes, you are right. But I hate it anyway. I have no other choice now I think. I have to wait for next wednesday to go to the charity shop, that's the next date it is open. Fortunately weather is quite good here. Today I took a walk barefoo...

Re: Running out of clothes

Hi! Somehow I have no luck. I was looking at the "Sperrmüll" for clothes or shoes. Found nothing but rags and stuff like broken rubber boots sizes too large. Trash. I ripped one of my tshirts completely (got stuck at a door knob and then it ripped open at the side). So I have only one shir...

Re: Running out of clothes

Hi! Hi Maja. I think everyone is very sympathetic and many of us have had really hard times financially so can understand. I am impressed that you want to live so independently and are reluctant to rely on your family. Thanks! Someone has suggested the frugal February ideas, and the cheap meals are ...

Re: Running out of clothes

Hi! Very beautiful place Koblenz, been there once but often passed through Yes, I like Koblenz very much. It's not so a big city like Cologne, Frankfurt or Munich, even Bonn is larger. I lived in Cologne for about two months and I didn't like it too much. Where I live now, there is not much traffic,...

Hi!

I live in a quite small city about 20 minutes (by bus) away from Koblenz. I can see the Rhein from my room :-)

Why do you ask?

Re: Running out of clothes

Hi! Today was not my day ... First of all my flipflops fell apart. I was in a supermarket buying groceries and the strap of my left flipflop came apart. I put it back in but after a few steps it came out again. I checked out and outside after a few steps the strap went out again. The sole was torn s...

Re: Running out of clothes

Hi! It's hard that your friends are living with more money than you. It's not so hard for me as it sounds. I like the idea of simple and frugal living. Even if I would have more money I wouldn't spend so much like others. It must make your social life more expensive too, if they want to go out to cl...

Re: Running out of clothes

Hi! What about your family/friends/work mates/neighbours, could they not help you out? I wrote about that a few minutes ago, as Richard suggested to ask friends or family. I would like to add: there are friends of mine who are constantly swapping clothes, since they are really into fashion and dress...

Re: Running out of clothes

Hi! Maja Excuse me for saying but for instance today my son and his girlfriend moved into a smaller flat than before to save money and they had a big sort out of their clothes, five bin bags full. I brought them home and sorted them and a lot were perfectly fine to wear still. Young people see cloth...
