What are your thoughts on hens and lettuce? The breeder I bought my hens from said no to lettuce but I don't know why?

I pick 2 up on the 28th and have just prepared their new 'house', got to section the run off yet for their arrival. I'm a virgin rescue mum so hope it goes well.

I've bid on a small arc with run on Ebay to put inside the big run, should be big enough for 2 hens.

Thanks, I might try the arboise, it's easy to poo pick in the coop and composts easily.

I know the grass in my run will soon be gone but I'm still unsure what to put on top of it when it does, any advice please? Yes same as me. Where are you getting the rescue chickens from? I think you'll probably be okay, just give a good check over for lice etc and keep a close eye on them all in case they start shown any symptoms IE f respirator infections. Most chickens hav had vaccinations against the worst diseases ...

I could quarantine it during the day in a dog crate in the run but I only have 1 coop so not at night.

Rescue Hen

If I add a rescue hen to my flock is there any danger of bringing disease to them?
Sorry if that sounds a silly question but being new to this I'd just like to make sure it's the right thing to do.
