A home for 2 girls in the bristol/south glos area

Looking to rehome my 2 hens ASAP. One is 18 mths old and laying lovely big brown eggs and the other is Point-of-Lay. Happy to drop them off but needs to be today ideally.

Thanks

Re: Sandy's Pink Ladies

Hi, BB has laid an egg for you - yay! Sounds like she's getting on well, though hens can be vicious sods! I've had a hen, Kathryn, die on me which left Jennifer on her own :( Bought another Point-of-Lay thinking she'd be happy with a new friend, how wrong was I. She kicked off screaming her head off...

Re: Metacam for horses

Hi Gwen My 17 yr old Welsh cobxtb has pedal arthritis and side bone. She's also turned out 24/7 365 days a year (how nature intended!) She's still rideable and is perfectly sound but I know there will come a time when she'll need pain relief on a regular basis. Have you looked into/discussed with ve...

BB looks very happy, can't believe she's quiet for once! Thanks for adopting her, I'm hoping the remaining girls will be much quieter in the morning now - fingers crossed...

Re: You and keeping Chickens didn't quite work out?

Hi

I have a light Sussex hybrid I need to rehome ASAP in the Bristol/South Glos area. She's laying well but I live in a built up area and she can be quite noisy in the morning so feel it's best (for all our sakes) to rehome her. Any takers?

Re: No eggs, what's going on?? Help!

Thanks Bev, you've made me feel better. Didn't realise hybrids have rests (not that I mind) thought they were pretty consistent layers. Fingers crossed they will start laying again soon. Laura

No eggs, what's going on?? Help!

Hi everyone This is my first post on downthelane and I'm hoping you lovely people can help me. I bought 4 Point-of-Lay hybrids last year, they are kept in a solway coop within a fully enclosed run and also have a good sized area of the garden which is now mud - pics below - though the free ranging a...
