She has always been the top girl, though never a bully, and yes it seems to be more crowing than clucking and it is very loud we can hear it from bottom of garden 60ft away through closed windows, her feet are fine we regularly check all the girls several times a week, the leg she stands on varies, ...

That could well be the answer as it does seem to be worse around laying time, they all lay in the same place 99% of the time and generally only two at a time can fit in the box (we have 4 girls). Having said that the strutting and clucking does continue during the day though not as constant. Thanks ...

Hi we have just acquired a small cold frame approx 3X2 ft looking for ideas of something that is simple and fairly quick to grow as we are looking to try it out as soon as possible, our gardening expertise is not great, tomatoes and potatoes are our usual crops, Thanks. Dave

We have a tatty looking old brick wall, approx 2 ft high and would like to coat it with something to make it look better, what would be the best to use, plaster, cement or some other form of coating, we intend to paint it with masonry paint when done, any suggestions appreciated, thanks.

OK I have just found a previous thread and it appears to be OK to keep them on concrete as long as they have some bark etc to scratch around in, looks like they will be here for a wee while yet :-) Dave

Can a chicken run be put on slabs or will that harm the chickens, the reason being we have far too much water logged garden where they are at the moment and they are living ankle deep in mud, the smell is also now unbearable ase obviously we can't clean out the mud. A solution is needed or it looks ...
