Re: Neighbours dog.....Again!!!!

I guess the saving grace is that foxes always seem to take the easiest option when hungry-catflap open, food available-it had a bit of a nosh on the bag of food and left your chucks alone.

Re: Positive about losing weight this time

Wow, that's a great loss!

I saw a quote today that went,'this thing we call failure is not the falling down, but the staying down'.

Re: Positive about losing weight this time

That's great Maz-over the 1st 1/2st! I've lost 7.5lb now, slimmer of the week again(we all contribute fruit, and slimmer of the week gets it). It'sa case of, if you fall, get back up, and continue. each ounce off is an ounce in the right direction. I'm dead chuffed, but would have been happy with jus...

Lost 3lb,got slimmer of the week! Celebrating with wine and pizza. My daughter, who's been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid and is now on tablets for life, has lost 1lb on the children's SW plan. Dead proud of her for sticking to healthy eating.

Re: Positive about losing weight this time

I've just joined SW. I'd done it before, but always done red days. The new orange Extra Easy is ok when you get to grips with it. The idea is to fill 1 third ofyour plate with the superspeed foods(fruit and veg lists). Then fill the rest of your plate with free foodsfrom both red and green sections. T...

Re: Fluffy Chicks!

Can't believe that the chicks have wing feathers already! They hatched seeming to know how to eat and drink, so mummy is teaching them how to be vandals! Haven't seen as much as I'd have liked due to the bad weather-had to put a tarpaulin over the entire setup,it's rained so heavily. I forgot about ...

Re: Hatching chicks-how long?

Wel, I took the bull by the horns and pricked open the shells of the remaining eggs-and there was nothing-just egg. So either they weren't fertile or thy didn't germinate.

Hatching chicks-how long?

I have 3 eggs left to hatch,3 from the same batch have already hatched. How long should leave them before I give up? I received them on the Wednesday, and put them straight under my hen. 2 hatched yesterday and 1 today. Is there a chance for the others?

Re: Fluffy Chicks!

Well, both my boys are good looking, and when I thought I couldn't keep them, I did have a lot of interest. The others should look like the picture below. Eggs were from a seemingly reputable dealer on ebay. So hopefully won't have a problem rehoming. If push came to shove my husband would do the de...

Re: Fluffy Chicks!

There are 4 altogether so far, going to give it another day to see of there are any more. We had 8 eggs in total- 2 from home and 6 mail order. Only 1 of the home ones has hatched. They are all fit and healthy. Dead chuffed. :-D

Re: trashed garden

I have no garden either-I've been meaning to do something about it for a year, had chickens for less than 2 years. They have dug up most things but shrubs, though some are chewed. They have scattered pots and devoured the contents. They have smashed most of my terracotta pots. I covered the pond with ...

My 11 year old daughter has just been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid. She had got quite fat,yet didn't eat any more than other kids. When she developed bald patches,I took her to the doctors. They did a blood test-only took 2 days for the results. She was refered to a specialist. They wouldn't ...
