I have spent a week cutting back bushes, fighting with thorns and numerous trailer loads to the tip. The roses are pruned and the grass is cut.
They are predicting snow in Denmark this week.
Summer is not here yet.

Re: Wildlife friendly town garden"You have managed to kill off your lavender" Are you saying that because it looks dead at the moment? I leave my lavender well alone until the middle or end of May. Mine looks dead at the moment. But I know that by the end of May there will be lots of new growth on those parts of the plant...
Re: Roses: What are your favourites? There are a lot of roses I like. I made a Danish Royal family rose garden. You will find all Royals have a rose named after them. We have now moved onto Royal Castles, of which most have them have roses named after them.
Re: I've been busy!I love the sheeps hat.
After looking at that bra, I thought the other hat was a pair of boobs. But then the penny dropped.
Chitting potatoesThat time is coming round again to get chitting your potatoes and so i thought I would share this with you. I was in Italy last year, helping someone with their garden. We dug the potato patch and he bought all his chitted potatoes out and then proceeded to cut them all in half. I had never seen thi...
Re: Talk to me about carrots. My father was a painter and decorator and used to mix his carrot seeds in with wallpaper paste and used an icing bag to sow the paste into drills. He said it made sure he didnt have to thin the carrots. It worked well because we always had lots of carrots. Having said that. I do not know what they p...
Re: Recycling Christmas wrapping paper, cards etc.I cut out cards into strips and laminate them and punch a hole in them.

I just want cremating and my ashes put in fireworks rockets and sending off my favourite beach, while everyone has a BBQ on the beach. I have a friend who is a firework maker. I am n...
Re: horseJannie and I have owned horses and it is a massive undertaking and they are far more tieing than a dog. We have a big field above us which would look great with a couple of horses in and we can afford it. But they can take up a lot of capital and even more time. You can get someone to look after you...
Re: Fast, cheap and easy cake.Whats it like to store I laughed at that one. I have no idea because it disappears quite quickly. There is nothing in it to go off and so I would imagine it would last pretty well. It is more like a cross between bread and cake, This one is coffee and walnut which I made this morning. I also made an...
Bird baths in winterWe are having a particularly cold spell in Denmark at the moment. Every morning the water in the stone bird bath is frozen solid. But it is important that the birds have access to drinking and bathing water and we have solved this problem. Every morning we boil the kettle and pour it over the frozen...
Fast, cheap and easy cake. Here is something to impress the other half with, or even visitors who have dropped in unannounced. Biscuits are my vice. Especially when I am in the garden and fancy, yet another coffee. But not only can it be expensive to buy them. They do not do my waist line much good. So here is a cheaper, heal...
