It makes the poo, well very sandy and more solid, and so easier to pick up than a more squidgy one (with apolgies to anyone reading this whilst eating!)

I put some in an old cat litter tray for my girls to dust bath in, and yes they appear to be eating it - mind you at least it makes the poo easier to clean up!

I'm now reading "The Man on a Donkey" by H F M Prescott, which is a large historical novel set in Tudor England around the time when Henry VIII was trying to divorce Katherine of Aragon in order to marry Anne Boleyn. The story is told in short sections by different characters and covers th...

Currently reading Shire Hell by Rachel Johnson, which I would probably put in the chick lit category, although may be that should be trout lit (as in old trout - if there is such a category- may have just made that up- as I guess it's aimed at fortysomethings). Anyway picked it up from a local chari...

Great photos Wendy. I hate to dampen your hopes but my first dog was a GSD/Border Collie cross and I was once told that this is the only "cross" involving a GSD where the ears stand up (which Bill's did). My money is on Great Dane I'm afraid because of his (Dave's) colouring (although some...

Oh Ilona what a sad story. That para about the youngsters having been there for a week!! Just doesn't bear thinking about. Why don't the Jockey Club provide some funds to help save more, and perhaps the racing authorities should be persuading the breeders to stop putting mares in foal at present. Bu...

Another fascinating thread!! We also had a "cheap" wedding in 1999 on what turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year. We had thought about Gretna as we both love Scotland, but in the end settled for a registry office do at the Archbishops Palace in Maidstone with the reception i...
