Re: what if we hadn't interfered?

Do you mean the government have made the whole Amazon rainforest depletion and extinction of species thing up, as a cunning ploy to deprive us poor taxpayers of our money? >stir<

Re: what if we hadn't interfered?

Change is the only constant, as you say Pavel131. Humans are just a part of nature - we often see the world as if we were outside of it, & consider nature to be every other living thing but us. We're just another organism. We can't stop the world from changing but as we are aware of the conseque...

Re: DIY haircut

I hardly ever cut my hair. Had 4 inches off in the spring (£7 cost) that'll tide me over till next spring.

If God had intended us to be short haired we'd have scissors for hands etc.

Re: Are men non-fiction and ladies fiction ?

I know what you mean about the geeky/gadgety type of read, I do read a lot of that.

I love good fiction as well though - but definately not the types my wife likes.

Re: whale wars

The persistence of the Japanese whalers fills me with horror, they seem not to care what the rest of the world think. Just barbaric. How do they get away with it?

Re: Charity Shops

As I said before, I'm saddened to find such vehement distrust levelled at charities when we have a huge greedy corrupt banking and corporate sector to take issue with. TV advertising - the charities involved raise literally millions of pounds for their causes. You think you have a better business mo...

Poor persecuted smokers. Things have gone too far I think - either ban it outright or leave 'em alone!

Re: What makes you turn the radio off?

Radio 1. Half the presenters on Radio 2. Phone-ins like Jeremy Vine where the most extreme members of the public are allowed to rant on about stupid things.

I can tolerate most music, very few songs make me switch off.

Re: Solar Panels - Great, but Ugly?

PV will develop into something completely practical and even aesthetically pleasing in the fullness of time. The link is to a fairly new development, solar slate. I've seen this installed at RES's HQ and it looks virtually the same as real slate. Suspect you might need deep pockets if you wanted thi...

Re: The Dark Side of the 80s

Wow, that is a great tracklist! I was about to bemoan the lack of my beloved Cocteau Twins but there they are, the lovely Pearly Dewdrops Drop track 20 CD2! Nice to see 2 House of Love tracks as well - why weren't they massive? A smattering of 70s fare in there, most of which is innocuous enough but...

Huh, load of rubbish. Talk about historical accuracy, they haven't even got Jack & Rose on it.
