Re: Wolf HALL

I've V+ it to watch when I get time to settle down and concentrate. It's had mostly good reviews but some people don't like the uber-realistic low lighting, they filmed just using candles for lights and so it seems a bit gloomy? Fingers crossed as I usually love a period drama and loved The Other Bo...

Re: Slow Cooker Question

Thanks for those replies, seems it is not such a strange phenomana (sp?) after all! They were normal onions not shallots and I cut them into chunks but didn't fry them off. The last time I used red onions and just cut them in half and they were perfect, very odd maybe red ones are sweeter? Had to la...

Slow Cooker Question

I recently brought the slow cooker out of hibernation and have cooked a couple of gammon joints (delicious), made some soup (ditto) and a couple of weeks ago made beef borgignon that was amazing. Yesterday I put all the same ingredients in at about 10.30 a.m. and set it on low as it was my shop afte...

Re: This need for extreme drama

Have to laugh at Benidorm, it is so silly but just fun and a laugh and that is something we all need It helps that we are going there in 2 weeks to visit my parents who are staying down in Spain until April. Last time we went we found the hotel where they film the outside shots and they let us go in...

Just like real life..... not! Imagine how exhausting it would be if real life was like Corrie / Eastenders / Tango etc. Phew glad I have a quiet life :-D

Re: This need for extreme drama

One of our old favourites was Heartbeat, fairly simple and often light hearted but step back and look at it and oh my goodness Aidensfield was a pretty dangerous place to love :-D

Re: Esio Trot

I am glad you've all enjoyed it as I have recorded it for a quiet moment and in the paper yesterday everyone was saying it wasn't very good, mainly down to James Corden's narration but I shall look forward to it :-D

Re: Positive about sorting my weight this time...

I only put about 3lb on over Christmas but I am sitting here surrounded by chocolates and fudge and 'supported' by a hubby who thinks it is rude not to eat everything we have been given! I actually spent less on groceries in December than in a normal month but we were given so much stuff I am thinki...
