Re: Coop repair

Based on my very limited experience, I'd say that whether a coop is suitable depends very much on your local weather conditions. Where we live is unspeakably windy, and also very wet. But just about everywhere in the UK was subject to gales last winter, and the forecast is that this is set to become...

Re: Rats

Oh that's good to know, Hedgehugger! I think the sort that killed our pup must have been warfarin-based, because he just bled out, as did my friend's cat. I hoped that we had moved on from such broad-effect poisons by now, but wasn't sure.

Re: Gluten free baking

I do think that flour improvers in themselves can be a problem. From various things I've read, the Chorleywood bread-making process (which uses flour improvers) is also known to be problematic in another way. This is the method that is used by standard commercial bread-makers. It makes it possible t...

Re: Rats

Rowlie, You probably already know this, but just in case you don't... It's worth keeping a careful eye on what Dexter finds and eats outdoors after you have put the poison down. If he eats a poisoned rat, it might kill him. I don't know how rat poisons nowadays differ from the sort that was common i...
