Re: The Great Global Warming Debate

Interesting thread Dickie. Without a doubt the earth has it’s cycles and has been steadily warming for millennia but also without doubt is that we are interfering with the natural way of things. The use of CFCs for everything from aerosol propellants to cleaning fluids and refrigeration gas (which i...

electric cars

The promise by the government to ban the sale of any new petrol and diesel cars in an interesting one. Firstly it is so far in the future that I do not doubt that there will be several waves of new technology that make the electric car obsolete in its current form. Fuel cells, hydrogen as a fuel and...

Re: What is the scariest & funniest movie you have ever seen

I have seen so many of them from my time in the RN that I am sort of immune to them. the Grudge (original) was creepy and i think that the original SAW was a really well made film.
the Omen films from back in the day are still some of the best going though.

Re: Does anyone actually watch Game of Thrones ?

I first saw snippets when I was on HMS Illustrious which seems like and age ago now (5 years or so) but didn’t really register what it was. Re: What's for dinner tonight?

I do like a nice, well constructed salad once in a while.
we had chicken balti made with thighs that should have been barbecued on Saturtday. I have got that for my lunch as well today.

Re: What's for dinner tonight?

It is funny how often meal plans can go awry. We went caravanning over the bank holiday and had everything planned victuals wise for the entire weekend. Friday we had cheese and biscuits with a glass or three of vino (bottle of ale) and the Spoonettes had jam sandwiches with crisps and yogurts for t...

Re: Wildlife friendly town garden

funnily enough I have a planter in which I have planted some borage seeds and the Spoonettes were most delighted to see the little shoots coming through yesterday afternoon.
